Who we are
This website is operated by GKD Tourism & Asset Management, a division of Gadd Group ("GKD", "we", "us"). We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
Information you give us
When you send an enquiry through our contact form we collect your name, your email address and your message, plus your phone number and company or organisation if you choose to provide them. If you phone us, we may note your name, contact details and what you asked about.
You are welcome to browse this website, or to call us with a general question, without telling us who you are. We can only reply to a written enquiry if you give us a way to contact you.
Information collected automatically
We keep simple, first-party statistics about how the website is used:
- the page you viewed and the page that referred you to it;
- whether you are on a mobile, tablet or desktop-sized screen;
- a random identifier stored in your browser's local storage (
mb_sid) so that repeat page views can be counted as one visitor. It does not contain your name or contact details; - if you arrive by clicking one of our online advertisements, a cookie (
mb_attr) that records which advertising source and campaign referred you. It lasts until you close your browser.
These statistics are not linked to enquiries you send us and we do not use them to identify you. Our website hosting provider also keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses and browser details, for security and reliability.
We may also use Google Analytics to measure website traffic. When it is switched on, Google sets its own cookies and collects usage information under Google's privacy policy. Fonts and some photographs on this website are loaded from third-party servers (Google Fonts and Unsplash), which receive your IP address in order to deliver them.
The private staff area of this website uses sign-in cookies for authorised users only. They are not set for ordinary visitors.
You can block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings. The website will still work.
Why we collect it and how we use it
- to respond to your enquiry and discuss our services with you;
- to prepare proposals and provide services you ask us for;
- to keep a record of enquiries we have received;
- to understand which pages and advertisements are useful, and to maintain and secure the website.
We do not sell personal information. If you do not provide the information marked as required on the contact form, we may not be able to respond to you.
Who we share it with
We disclose personal information only as needed for the purposes above:
- to people within the Gadd Group who help respond to enquiries and deliver our services;
- to service providers who operate this website for us: our website developer and maintainer (Metabundle), and the providers of website hosting, email delivery, database and analytics services;
- where the law requires or authorises us to.
Some of these service providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to use reputable providers that protect the information they handle for us.
How we store and protect it
Enquiries are delivered to us by email, and a record of each enquiry (name, company and email address) may be kept in our website's access-controlled staff dashboard. The website is served over an encrypted connection. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, and we delete or de-identify it when we no longer need it.
Access and correction
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, using the contact details below. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days. If we cannot do what you ask, we will tell you why.
Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. We will acknowledge your complaint and respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
